The primary acid used in strong toilet cleaners is Hydrochloric Acid (HCl), also known as muriatic acid, because it effectively dissolves tough mineral deposits like limescale and rust. Other strong acids like Sulphuric Acid (H₂SO₄) are also used for heavy-duty cleaning due to their corrosive power, but require extreme caution and good ventilation as they are very dangerous.
